I appreciate the info on Yowie Deschanel, but I wish you would change the pronouns in the post to the gender-nonbinary "they/them" and change, e.g., "fellow" to "person".
I'm a cis man, but my spouse is gender-nonbinary, and I know it's painful for them to have someone misgender them with the wrong pronoun or even noun. Please consider this update in the name of compassion.
Nate, thanks so much for your comment and suggestion. Considering I have no idea what Yowie's pronouns actually are, I am reticent to assign any to Yowie. This is why I purposely mix the pronouns up in my piece. As a gender fluid queer myself, my spouse and I are often misgendered, and we love to play with others' confusion. So that is where I am coming from. My intention is never to hurt anyone and I unconditionally respect your position.
